Many people do not realize that their employers will match charitable donations. Over 18 million individuals work for companies that have a matching gift program.

DOUBLE YOUR DONATION IN TIME

Corporate matching gift programs have submission deadlines within a set number of months after the date of donation. These typically are between 3-12 months.

Some employers accept match submissions at the end of the calendar year in which your gift was made. Still others require match requests to occur by the end of the quarter in which the donation was given.

Gift requests received after your employer’s matching gift deadline will not be eligible for a match. Make sure you know your employer’s submission deadline.

HOW DO I REQUEST A MATCHING GIFT? 

Requesting a matching gift is normally a five-minute process which must be initiated by the donor. You can do this by filling out and submitting a paper match form provided by your employer or through an electronic submission process.
