Referral for Travel Support

Refer a Child and Family

Every child deserves access to cancer treatment that offers hope.   Compass to Care provides a non-emergency medical transportation (NEMT) solution to access care for children whose survival may be impacted by social determinants of health.

Compass to Care has two successful programs to meet the unique NEMT needs of your patients.

ACCESS LIFE

Compass to Care has a well-established program to successfully meet the NEMT needs of children traveling from suburban and rural communities, or for children flying to distant medical centers for care.  It is called ACCESS LIFE. This program provides financial support to fund:

  • Airfare
  • Gasoline
  • Lodging
  • Parking Fees
  • Train Fare
  • Taxi/Uber/Lfyt

Parents are given a Compass to Care Debit Card that they can use to pay for these travel expenses each time they take their child to treatment.

CARE & BACK™

In 2021, Compass to Care launched its Care & Back™ program to provide rideshare rides to children who live within 20 miles of the medical center where they are receiving care.

In collaboration with Kaizen Health, parents can request individualized rideshare transportation from their homes to the hospital and back. Children are approved for up to three roundtrip, or six one-way trips, per week. If the child’s treatment requires more extensive travel, arrangements can be made within the application to increase the trip allotment to meet the extensive travel requirements. Travel requests are on-demand, meeting the individualized needs for each family.
